Today, I promise
to love myself more and more.
And forgive myself,

for my many faults
as I live my life each day.
I am perfectly

imperfect, always.
And that is okay, because
mistakes are seeds of

opportunities,
for compassion for others
and towards myself.

Today, I promise
to embrace self-forgiveness,
with arms wide open!

This haiku series was written for Forgiving Friday’s prompt “The Endless Gift Of Your Own Compassion.”

It is purposefully broken up and awkward going from stanza to stanza because that is often how we love and forgive ourselves, awkwardly. Self-forgiveness is not one of my strengths, but I am working on it. So, this was a great prompt to get me writing and thinking. A big thank you to Debbie over at ForgivingConnects!
